Our Experience
Hugh Reed
National Director
Hugh Reed is a national expert on examination testing techniques. He has taken and studied bar exams for over 25 years and has applied his knowledge to ReedMBR.com in order to develop the most effective application to help candidates succeed on their Multistate Bar Examination (MBE). THE MBE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR BAR EXAM AND MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE ESSAYS!
Remember you only have approximately 1.8 minutes to read, comprehend, and answer questions on the MBE. Statistically, most of the approximately 73,000 candidates who take the MBE each year, will pass or fail their bar exam by a few points, even fractions of points - see www.ncbex.org. And most will miss approximately 75-80 questions out of 200 on the MBE. Therefore, every point is crucial to your success. While the MBE format and type of questions tested have recently changed, up to 60 questions are repeat questions from past exams for statistical equating purposes. Given that the MBE is a secure and confidential examination, only those who have recent and continued experience with the MBE can provide you the edge on this important part of the bar exam. It is the "key" to passing your entire bar exam, given that state bar examiners receive your MBE score within a matter of days and in many states decisions are made on the likelihood of passing or failing the entire bar exam based on the MBE. Indeed, many states have a minimum threshold you need to achieve on the MBE in order to even grade your essays. In other states, the higher you score on the MBE, the extra points will "carry over" to the essays to achieve your total score. And, the National of Conference of Bar Examiners, the proponent of the MBE, has published studies indicating candidates are likely to parallel their MBE performance on essays. Therefore, in most states, you passing or failing your bar exam is heavily dependent on your MBE performance.
Continued experience on the MBE pays big dividends for those who choose ReedMBR.com. Prior to joining the ReedMBR.com team, Hugh was the former National Director of Multistate Testing, Editor-in-Chief, and Director of various states' bar reviews for the largest traditional bar review in the country. He provides candidates with the knowledge that translates into success on their bar exam. And, as the former commander of the U.S. Army's Aviation Training Brigade and as an Army Airborne Ranger with combat experience, Hugh brings the mind-set and discipline to bar review preparation required to be successful under anxiety-prone situations. Coupled with the fact that Hugh takes the MBE regularly for his multi-jurisdictional law practice - see www.HughReed.com - his experience in bar review preparation is unparalleled.
Finally, in addition to Hugh's experience and expertise, he leads a team of attorney-coaches who have recent bar exam experiences, both as editors of the MBE and as examinees. This experience has allowed us to develop performance-based interactive learning techniques that make complex issues easy to understand, easy to remember, and easy to apply during stressful, time-sensitive testing conditions. Additionally, we've developed helpful mnemonics, checklists, and disciplined approaches to help candidates maximize their scores on the MBE. All attorney/coaches have scored in the top 1% on the MBE, graduated first in their law school class, and/or are licensed in numerous states by having taken bar exams, including the MBE. These attorney-coaches are available for FREE consultation, provide written feedback within 48 hours, and are also available for individualized tutoring, if desired.
Get started today, and you'll be on your way to passing your MBE with plenty of extra points to spare.
